EasyCapture Version 0.41 Released

Announcing the release of EasyCapture version 0.41 released under the GPL. What is EasyCapture you ask? It's a simple image hosting/capturing script to make hosting/linking of images easier. If you post on forums, LiveJournal, or EBay the process for hosting an image can take a couple of seconds. "A couple of seconds!?!" you say? That's just plain too long for me to wait! EasyCapture fills that void.

With EasyCapture all you have to do is navigate to a web page with an image on it you want. Click the bookmarklet I have provided for you and click the image and not only does EasyCreate host that image for you, it also creates a thumbnail for easy linking, and HTML you can use for that linking. Done!

I made EasyCapture as simple to use as possible. Just extract the files to a PHP enabled web directory and it should work. Zero configuration is required (but is available). View the INSTALL file, or the README file now.

Requirements: PHP 4.0+, and the GD Image library (included with PHP). FreeType is recommended, but not required.

Sample Images:

battledolphin.jpg diet_coke_with_bacon.jpg son-goku.jpg

thanks for the great hosting script, it's easier and faster than anything I have seen before. There is just one issue: would it be possible to create a unique Filename when I upload a picture? At the moment a picture is overwritten when I upload a ne picture with the same filename. I guess after I while I just don't know anymore which filenames I habe already used. Maybe it wwould be an Idea to append something to the filename. eg. picture.jpg gets renamed to picture0001.jpg or something like that. What do you think?

Cheers. Ben

Nice, but dont work on my webspace.

Warning: is_readable() [function.is-readable]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(../../perturb.php) is not within the allowed path(s): (/users/myhost/temp:/users/myhost/www:/etc/php/lib) in /users/myhost/www/Webspace1/ec.class.php on line 1111

But, the script is cool...
